It’s teeing up to be an exciting weekend of FEI World Cup™ action with show jumping qualifiers taking place in Del Mar and Helsinki, and the first dressage qualifier of the 2016/2017 season taking place in Odense, Denmark.
In Del Mar, USA’s Audrey Coulter, who picked up a big win in the $100,000 Longines FEI World Cup™ Qualifier in Sacramento, will try for a second win in as many weeks. Across the pond, Switzerland’s Romain Duguet will attempt to defend his 2015 title in Helsinki, but with 48 top horse and rider combinations listed to compete it will be no easy task.
In Odense, dressage enthusiasts will be looking out for the sport’s next superstar. With Charlotte Dujardin’s Valegro retiring this year there’s an opening for the sport’s next superstar duo. Spain’s Severo Jurado Lopez and Lorenzo, the pair who took 5th place Rio thanks to their flashy, crowd pleasing performance, will no doubt be top contenders to fill Dujardin and Valegro’s shoes.
