Horse-lovers, and ice cream lovers, of all ages are welcome to come to the Dundee eCreamery at 5001 Underwood Ave in Omaha on Wednesday, March 15 to help celebrate the upcoming FEI World Cup™ Finals Omaha 2017. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. celebrity scoopers will be helping dish out the featured flavor of the month, Whirled Cup Champion Chocolate, a salted chocolate ice cream with Baker’s Candies dark chocolate chunks. The flavor was created specially to honor the World Cup competition.

Those wanting to try the special flavor, or others on the menu, will be greeted at the door by two miniature horses, Goldie and Beasley. Dave Kruger, huntsman for the North Hills Hunt, will be there in hunt attire, blowing calls on his hunting horn. Among celebrity scoopers who have agreed to help are Matt Lothrop, sports announcer for KETV; Samantha Scott from KISS FM, Cheryl Kaye of 104 Star and Tom Becka, Channel 42. Others are more than welcome to join us.

The FEI World Cup™ Finals Omaha 2017 is the first global professional sports championship held in Nebraska, featuring the world’s best horses and riders competing in two Olympic disciplines, dressage and jumping. The event will be held at Omaha’s CenturyLink Center on March 29 through April 2.

Many of the riders qualifying for the Finals are Olympic medalists. Among those who have already punched their ticket to Omaha are Marcus Ehning a two-time Olympian from Germany who has won the title three times and is going for an unprecedented fourth World Cup championship, and defending champion Steve Guerdat, the Swiss rider who is a five-time Olympian and gold medalist in jumping in the London Olympic Games in 2012.

Isabell Werth, another German rider with ten Olympic medals in dressage, is definitely coming to Omaha. With the last qualifying events to be held this weekend, we will know next week who else is coming to Omaha.
